Festival of Foxhunting on Saturday, September 25th

An expanded version of our annual Hunt educational seminar includes MFHA Executive Director Andrew as keynote speaker, a tack exchange, and more. Also, that day, we will distribute our first ever ‘21-‘22 Hunt Season Booklet as a reference for the year.

Newcomers’ Day on Saturday, October 2nd

A special opportunity for festival participants and others new to foxhunting to become oriented to foxhunting in the field.

Fall Hunter Pace on Sunday, October 31st

Word got out about the amazing Hunter pace course that Martyn and the Masters designed at the kennels this past Spring, and we were invited, for the first time ever, to participate in the Virginia Fall Hunter Pace series.

Opening Meet on Sunday, November 7th

Christmas Celebration on Saturday, December 11th

Normal day of hunting from the PAH Kennels, followed by a formal Hunt Breakfast at 6 pm in the Hunt Room at the Cavalier Hotel.  Black tie; scarlet if convenient. Dinner, Whiskey tastings, caroling and merrymaking, a la Dr. Charles Bonner. Special hotel room rate for PAH until November 19th.

Boxing Day Hunt on Sunday, December 26th at Westover Plantation

Returning to Historic Westover again this year to raise a cup of cheer at the Stirrup Cup preceding a robust hunt and hearty Breakfast to follow at Cul’s Courthouse Grill, Charles City.  An opportunity to join friends and members to share holiday stories, ring in the New Year, and celebrate Martyn and Sue.

Hunting Fixtures

Ratcatcher dress is expected during Cubbing season in October and on Wednesdays during the formal season, November 7th-March 11. Formal dress is on weekends. This year, we will continue to encourage our fabulous potluck breakfasts following all hunts. Once per month, including Opening Meet, Closing Meet and Boxing Day, Marcy Molinaro’s Events Committee will be offering a Stirrup Cup along with guided car hill-topping. Those Hunts will be a particularly fun, educational, and immersive experience for guests, Hunt Supporters, and non-riders.

The Board formally votes on members the 3rd Tuesday of each month. If you are interested in joining, applications are on the website and questions can be directed to Membership Chair, Christine Sweet at chrissweet3943@aol.com.
