We  had the pleasure of a wonderful professional photographer to visit PAH on two occasions.  The Erdas of Westover invited Christopher Smith to come photograph on Boxing Day. This was a day that grounds conditions were not favorable, so we Walked Out with the Hounds. Christopher also was invited to join us at this past Saturdays hunt at Evelyton Plantation, home of John and Jeanine Hinson. It was a beautiful day for a hunt! Christopher took some awesome photos. Please click on below link to see samples of the photos of the day.

It is with heavy heart and great sadness that we say good by to a dedicated member of our hunt family. Mike was a true animal lover of all things horses, dogs and chickens!  He truly loved PAH and supported our hunt in many ways. His first hunt horse was Chatham who carried him in the hunt field and earned his colors.  Morgan his daughter soon joined him in the hunt field on a lovely mount, Sonny. I know Mike was in his glory to have his daughter hunting along side him in many hunts together. Debbie and Mike was always a delight at our hunt social functions. Mike enjoyed all aspects of our hunt, painting fences, participating in social functions, serving on the board as membership chair.  Mike was a true gentleman and always was properly turned out no matter what function, his signature bow ties were always in order! Please enjoy a life well lived and give great thanks to a man that truly loved PAH!

I  leave you this quote from Mike:"I hug five horses every day - mostly twice a day. What a joy. Sure beats banking".

    Dear Members

As you may know, Governor Northam has issued a new Executive Order which went into effect on November 16, 2020. Some members have expressed concern that this may impact our hunting schedule. (To read complete Executive Order CLICK HERE)

The Masters of Foxhounds Association has had some very direct communication with the Governor’s office in regards to foxhunting.  Fortunately, the Executive Order specifically states that “outdoor recreational sports activities are permitted”. We are further advised that the Governor has directly stated that the order is not intended to apply to outdoor activities such as foxhunting.  This is helpful in that the “limit to groups of 25” does not apply while out hunting.  However we should use common sense and be smart.  We will be limiting our stirrup cups during this time, and please ensure that any post-hunt snacking follows appropriate Covid protocols.  Also, please do not post photos on social media of hunting during this time.

We are fortunate to be able to carry on our sport in these times, and it is important that we are compliant with state policies and also sensitive to the perception of those outside of the hunting community.

Please call if you have any questions.

We are delighted to announce the addition of our new Princess Anne Hunt Merchandise Page! The merchandising team has been busy working on a new variety of PAH logo offerings that are ready to go, just in time for the 2020-2021 season!

In the apparel department, we have terrific new PAH logo items, including polo shirts made of performance fabric that are perfect for riding. Will we be dining outside this fall? On offer are PAH sweatshirts, vests and two types of insulated jackets that perfectly fit the bill. All apparel items have the PAH logo done in a colorful embroidery by Paddock Threads, purveyor of monogrammed and embroidered linens and custom apparel.

We also have a smattering of choice in the home décor department! From hemstitched linen cocktail napkins and guest towels to tumblers to wine totes, we’ve got just the thing for tailgates, hunt balls and everything in between!

The best part? These items will be shipped directly to you so there’s no need to wait for a meet or social function to enjoy them!

So, please indulge in a bit of retail therapy – a portion of every purchase goes to our hound cookie fund! And why not? We’ve got something for every taste!

For questions or comments, please contact Mary Finney (mhfinney@aol.com) or Franci Wayland ( franciwayland@me.com)

Our Presentation of Hounds at Sherwood Forest drew a good crowd of visitors, some of whom asked great questions regarding hunting and hounds.  It was a very hot and humid morning and "The Dream Team" were in full, formal livery but we survived! The hounds were a credit to us and were unruffled by the large group of people.  As you can see, they also enjoyed their meet and greet with one gorgeous little attendee, Mae Ramsay, who is just the cutest!  Another successful PR opportunity for PAH!
